1976 - 1986—KICS/KEZH, Hastings, NE
During my tenure with KICS/KEZH I held a number of positions on air, and in management for the combo. On-air duties included morning announcer, assistant news director and sports director. I held management positions as program director, operation manager and station manager.
1986 - 1999—KRGI AM/FM/KMMJ AM/KLRB FM, Grand Island, NE
I began with the stations as afternoon drive personality and operations manager for what was then a two-station combo. As my career continued, I took over sales management and eventually general management of stations that increased to a four-station group.
1999 - 2010—David & Associates Advertising, Hastings, NE
As account executive, I handled some of the agencies largest accounts in the areas of healthcare, politics and travel and tourism. At the same time, I held the title of director of media relations, which included researching, and planning buys for all agency clients locally, regionally and nationally.
2010 - Nov, 2017—Nebraska State Fair, Grand Island, NE
As director of marketing and sponsorships for the Nebraska State Fair, I increased sponsorship growth from $250,000 cash in 2010 to over $900,000 cash in 2017. I also handle all media buying, and formulate strategies for both the creation and implementation of the marketing plan and strategy. I have spoken before the International Association of Fairs and Expositions on topics from sponsorship sales, on building naming rights for State Fairs and the State Fair Cares program benefiting non-profits throughout the state.
While with the Nebraska State Fair, I increased sponsorships from $280,000 in 2010 to $930,000 in 2017 and through marketing saw a record breaking 377,000 fairgoers through the gates in 2017. This was the highest attendance in Grand Island and the second highest attendance in the history of the Nebraska State Fair.
2017 - Present—Partnership Marketing, Grand Island
As managing partner for Partnership Marketing, I work with clients in all aspects of their marketing from traditional media to online and social offerings. Partnership Marketing has had success in political endeavors as well as business to consumer, school districts among others. As founder of “Take the Pledge to Shop Local”, it has become a passion to encourage folks of all stripes to shop locally to save their community. I am proficient in video recording and editing as well as digital audio recording and editing with a studio for both in my home.

Progress for Grand Island Award from the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation for work above and beyond in helping with the local passage of Nebraska’s LB840, the Local Option Municipal Economic Development Act. This allowed Grand Island Economic Development to receive $7.5 million over 10 years to aid in luring business and industry to the area.
